At Ridgmont, we believe every one of our horses should be given the opportunity to win a Group 1.

To achieve this our commitment is to;

  • Invest in people with world class talent and experience.

  • Support our people with quality infrastructure, facilities and education.

  • Respect, optimise and constantly regenerate our land.

  • The framework for our commitment is a culture of friendship and the shared joy of success.

Our Family

MEET THE CUNNINGHAMS

Ridgmont is the manifestation of our family's collective love for breeding and racing. Since 2017, our family has poured itself into our ambition to breed champions. Initially, it was Gary and Lorilie who imbued this passion into the family. Genetics took over, and the whole family was quickly and enthusiastically enamoured, with eldest son Mitch the founding director of both Ridgmont, and Cunningham Thoroughbreds (the racing arm of the business).

Mitch lives at Ridgmont with his wife Stef, and four children Uma, Sol, Yael and Leni.  Mitch’s brother Xavier has extensive experience in both racing and breeding, having worked at some of the best racing stables and farms around the world. Lorilie Cunningham, the matriarch of the family, is best known for her not so subtle race day outfits, as well as her passionate work in raising funds for equine welfare. The remaining family Steph, Pete and Anthony, never miss a big race day or sale. The Cunningham’s hope is to craft a lasting family legacy, synonymous with breeding tough, sound and intelligent horses who perform at the highest level on the racetrack.

Our People

MEET THE TEAM

We have carefully curated a world leading equine management team from around the world. We provide expert veterinary care, yearling preparation and broodmare management, providing us and our clients the best case outcomes from impregnation to point of sale, and everything in between.

Our Farm

SEGENHOE, NSW

Nestled under the “ridge” and situated in the heart of horse country in the Hunter Valley, there is no better place to raise thoroughbreds than Ridgmont in the Segenhoe Valley. We are 15 minutes from Scone and 5 minutes from Aberdeen on 800 acres of sloping hills. We want all our clients to visit our farm and experience the magic that is Ridgmont.
