Coolmore acquires Storm Boy

Following Storm Boy's (Justify x Pelican) blistering success in the Magic Million's 2YO Classic in January, we are delighted that he has been acquired by Coolmore Australia in a historic agreement.

Storm Boy, who was sold at the 2023 Magic Millions for $460,000 to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, will continue to train under their tutelage, with Cunningham Thoroughbreds, the racing arm of Ridgmont, retaining a 5% share in the horse.

"Storm Boy has been an incredibly exciting horse - for Gai and Adrian, all our owners, the farm and our family," says Mitch Cunningham, Director and Owner of Ridgmont, and managing owner of Storm Boy. "He showed his ability and prowess in his early starts, but his win at the Magic Millions, in a record time, solidified him as something great, something special," continues Cunningham.

Storm Boy's performance in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic was nothing short of legendary, as he posted the fastest ever time in the history of the race. "Storm Boy's Autumn campaign looks to be shaping up nicely, and we can't wait to see what he does," says Cunningham.
