Nestled among the rolling hills and verdant paddocks at the southern end of the famed Segenhoe Road, Ridgmont is more than just another broodmare farm, it is our family's passion. Founded on a shared love for the thoroughbred, our story is one of three generations working together in a committed pursuit of breeding excellence.
At Ridgmont, we are proud to showcase our world leading staff, state of the art facilities and top line bloodstock, but what sets us apart is the familial atmosphere that permeates every aspect of our operation. It’s about a strong bond that extends beyond our immediate family, to the people who work with us, our clients, and the magnificent horses we raise.
Our journey began with a dream to breed and nurture thoroughbreds of the highest caliber, and that dream has evolved into a labour of love that we are thrilled to share with you.

Ridgmont is an ambitiously progressive farm, leveraging modern feeding programs, veterinary care, and farming techniques, while employing the most highly qualified and experienced management team and staff from around the world. We support our staff with quality infrastructure, facilities and education. Our strategic utilization of our land provides both a nurturing and challenging environment for the horses that fosters both physical and mental resilience. Our credo is that every one of our horses should be given the opportunity to win a Group 1.

We are a family run and owned farm. Our passion for breeding and racing thoroughbreds runs deep. We aspire to share in the success of our clients, both in the sales ring, as well as on the track.

The six lines represent the six members of our family, and their extended families. It also symbolizes the broader Ridgmont family of people who work with us and clients. It is an homage to those that have played a role in raising the horse, immortalized by the indelible mark of six lines on the shoulder.

Mitch is the founding director of Ridgmont, as well as Cunningham Thoroughbreds, the family racing arm of the business. He comes from a multi-disciplined background in business, investment and aviation...
Chris Phillips
VETERINARIAN, BVetMed(Hons) CertAVP MRCVS
Chris graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2005. After working in primary equine practice, he undertook medicine, surgery and reproductive internships at Rossdale and Partners, Newmarket.
Jim Clarke
DIRECTOR OF BLOODSTOCK
Jim is a a trained lawyer turned bloodstock agent and consultant with over 18 years experience working in racing and breeding both in Australia and around the world. As Director of Bloodstock at Ridgmont, Jim helps to manage our broodmare band and advise on the farm’s portfolio of horses.
